At The Birch & Berry Inn, we are deeply committed to sustainability and protecting our environment.
We believe in offering a serene getaway that respects and nurtures the environment, making your stay with us not only enjoyable but also sustainable.
Our solar array, consisting of 50 panels, meets 100% of the electrical needs for the inn, demonstrating our dedication to renewable energy. We built the inn with no fossil fuel heating by utilizing energy-efficient heat pumps for both heating and cooling as well as an electric water heater. Our battery wall backup power system allows us to feed surplus energy back into the grid, promoting energy conservation.
To further our commitment to eco-friendliness, we offer bath amenities that are both environmentally safe and locally sourced. Our mattresses are crafted to be 100% free of harmful substances, ensuring a healthy and safe environment for our guests.
In addition, we operate a small flower and berry farm using organic practices, ensuring our contributions to the ecosystem are positive and sustainable.
Our inn is also our home so we not only work here, we live here. We value our community and are committed to supporting our neighbors.
At Birch & Berry Inn, we believe in giving back to the community that supports us. In alignment with our values, we proudly donate 1% of our stays to the Hinesburg Community Resource Center, helping to enhance local services and support our neighbors in need.
We also invite our local residents to explore our beautiful property and connect with our friendly goats—Gari, Perry, and Ollie. We believe in fostering community ties and providing opportunities for neighbors to engage with nature and each other.
Additionally, the "Great Room", our common space for guests, along with our grounds (weather permitting), are available for local organizations to host meetings and gatherings.
We are dedicated to being a welcoming place where community members can come together, collaborate, and build connections.
