Hinesburg Town Forest and other local trails

The Hinesburg Town Forest is one of the state’s largest, including 18 miles of trails and a few areas of dispersed recreation through a quintessential Vermont northern hardwood forest.  Hinesburg has several other trails systems as well, so whether you are looking for a stroll through the woods or a more strenuous hike, the town's trails will satisfy your need to get outside.

Recreation in Town

With some of the best cross country skiing, mountain biking, and trail hiking in Vermont and a local golf course, you are sure to find the perfect place to get out and enjoy Vermont's fresh air and scenery.

Mountain Biking - The Hinesburg Town Forest, Carse trails and Sleepy Hollow combined are considered one the premier mountain biking trails systems in the state.
Cross Country Skiing - Sleepy Hollow is the place to ski in the winter and mountain bike for much of the rest of the year
Golfing - Hinesburg is home to Cedar Ridge Golf Course, a challenging, well-groomed public golf course, is just a 10 minute drive away.

Lake Iroquois

People enjoy the lake throughout the year. Swimming, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, waterskiing, fishing are some of the summer activities while in the winter when the lake freezes people will out ice fishing, playing hockey, skating, and skiing.
